Using Google Checkout as a Payment Method

If you already have Google Checkout configured as a payment method

If you don't have Google Checkout yet, scroll down to the next section.

 

1. Stay logged into your Discovery DotFeed Account and log in to your Google Checkout Account on a separate tab.

 

2. In Google Checkout's main menu, click on Settings and select Integration.

   

 

3. In the Integration Settings screen, copy the Merchant ID and Key to paste into your Discovery Account.

   

    

4. Go to your Discovery Account here: DotFeed>Payments>Google Checkout. Select Edit to paste the Merchant ID and key and then save your work.

 

5. In your DotFeed account, copy the API Callback URL. Prepare to paste this URL into your Google Checkout Account in the next step.

   

    

6. In Google Checkout in the Integration Settings screen, insert the API Callback URL as shown below. Also uncheck the box: My company will only post digitally signed carts

   

If you do NOT have Google Checkout configured as a payment method

1. Navigate to Google Checkout Sign Up and enter your information.

    

   Google asks for your primary product type and public business website, plus certain tax information.

2. Create your merchant account by going to http://checkout.google.com/checkout/sell and logging in with the account you just created.

 

3. Go through the steps in the Google registration wizard until you have completed the process and are returned to the main Google Checkout dashboard.

   

4. For these next steps, you'll need to be logged in to BOTH your Discovery Account and your Google Checkout Account on separate tabs in your internet browser.

 

5. In Google Checkout's main menu, click on Settings and select Integration.

   

 

6. In the Integration Settings screen, copy the Merchant ID and Key to paste into your Discovery Account.

   

    

7. Go to your Discovery Account, to this location: DotFeed>Payments>Google Checkout . Select Edit to paste the Merchant ID and key and save. Then, while still in DotFeed, copy the API Callback URL. Prepare to paste this URL into your Google Checkout Account in the next step.

   

    

8. In Google Checkout in the Integration Settings screen, insert the API Callback URL as shown below. Also uncheck the box: My company will only post digitally signed carts

   

Using Google Checkout Sandbox

If you would like to test your order process before going live, then use the Sandbox. Although the Google Checkout Sandbox does not require an SSL certificate, your site must have one installed before you can process live transactions. Only certificates issued by an authority recognized by Google are valid.
